Micah Ali

Micah Ali is the President Emeritus of the Compton Unified School District Board of Trustees. He is also the President Emeritus of the Los Angeles County School Trustees Association and serves on the Boards of Directors of Friends of the Ballona Wetlands.

Ali has demonstrated his leadership over a broad range of public policy issues and as a part of a variety of public and nonprofit institutions. He is an advocate for environmental safeguards as a member of the South Coast Air Quality Management District Environmental Justice Advisory Group. He also serves on the state Racial and Identity Profiling Advisory (RIPA) Commission as an appointee of the California State Senate.
 
He has been a leader in legislative efforts to broaden Early Care and Education opportunities for low-income children. He has led efforts to establish school-based health centers to make health care more readily available to children in local communities as well as for expanding opportunities for academic excellence in public schools.
