Towalame Austin

Towalame Austin Towalame Austin has over 17 years of experience in the non-profit sector. She carved a niche in the charitable sector by bridging the worlds of traditional and entertainment philanthropy. Currently she is an executive of philanthropy for Roc Nation where she is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of the philanthropic efforts of artists. Austin directly manages Rihanna’s charity venture, The Clara Lionel Foundation, overseeing fundraising, organization management, program development, and research.

Austin began her career in the non-profit sector with the Magic Johnson Foundation Inc., where she served as director of corporate relations and special events nationwide, executive vice president, and president of the Foundation, respectively. As president, she played a pivotal role in the strategic leadership of one of the nation’s leading charitable organizations.

She currently sits on the board for the Association of Black Foundation Executives (ABFE) and serves as chair of their governance committee. In addition, she sits on the Philanthropic/Advisory Board for her alma mater, California State University, Dominguez Hills and was recently appointed to the Diversity Task Force for Live Nation Entertainment.
