As Director of Athletics for the UCLA Bruins since 2002, Dan Guerrero leads one of the most decorated athletic programs in NCAA history. But it was at CSU Dominguez Hills where he got his start.

He joined the Toro Athletics program as an Assistant Athletics Director while also teaching part-time in the public administration department after earning his MPA. Within two years he was named Athletics Director and served in that position for five years. Prior to joining UCLA, he served as UCI’s Director of Athletics for 10 years, helping to elevate that program to unprecedented success.

Throughout his career, Guerrero has earned numerous honors. The Black Coaches and Administrators organization in 2010 presented him with the Dr. Myles Brand BCA Administrator of the Year award. In 2004, he was named one of the nation’s 100 Most Influential Hispanics by Hispanic Business Magazine, and in 2003, Sports Illustrated listed him #28 among the 101 Most Influential Minorities in Sports. Other honors include UCLA Latino Alumnus of the Year in 2001, induction into the UCLA Baseball Hall of Fame in 1996, and CSUDH’s Alumnus of the Year in 2003.
