Brian Johnson
After a 26-year-career with the Los Angeles Police Department, Brian Johnson was sworn in as the 11th Chief of Police for the Upland Police Department in April 2015.

Protecting and serving the public is in his family; his father was also an LAPD officer. Brian joined the force in 1989 as a patrol officer and through the years gained experience taking on a variety of assignments. After seven years, he was promoted to sergeant, and within four years to lieutenant. Prior to leaving LAPD, he held the rank of captain and served as area commanding officer for the department’s Pacific Division.

Brian is the recipient of numerous external and internal commendations and awards, including the prestigious Police Meritorious Service Medal. He is a member of numerous professional organizations and is on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Asian American Law Enforcement Commanders.
