Outstanding Advisors

Congratulations on being recognized as an Outstanding Toro Academic Advisor! The Outstanding Toro Academic Advisor Awards were introduced in May 2016. These awards provide a unique and important opportunity to recognize the hard work and dedication to student success that our CSUDH faculty advisors demonstrate on a daily basis.

This faculty advisor has been instrumental in my academic success at CSU Dominguez Hills. She has proved to be a passionate professor and sought the best from each of her students."

The Outstanding Toro Academic Advisor Awards committee received 136 nominations for 82 different faculty and staff advisors with 15 faculty and staff advisors selected as 2016 recipients. Graduate and undergraduate students responded enthusiastically to the call for nominations, and students wrote poignant, heart-warming descriptions of the support, encouragement, and advice they had received from their staff and faculty advisors.

Many students appreciated how their advisors challenged them to think about their education in different ways, and cited their advisors as key to their academic success during their time at CSUDH. Several students said that their faculty and staff advisors had encouraged them to go on to masters or doctoral programs after graduation from CSUDH.
