Richard Malamud has been a professor in the Accounting, Finance, and Economics Department for over 29 years where he primarily teaches federal income taxation courses. His research focuses on income and estate tax issues. He deals primarily with practice oriented issues but has also written numerous law review articles. He has written over 90 articles. Scholarship is based on his dual certification as both an attorney and a certified public accountant and his work in both areas prior to coming to CSUDH. He retired as a full-time Professor three years ago and continues as a faculty member half-time as a FERP (Faculty Early Retirement Program). Currently he is a consultant to a CPA firm where he prepares individual, corporate, partnership and estate and gift tax returns. This experience enhances his teaching of courses covering those areas of tax.
