The online Certificate of Completion will prepare an individual with the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary for creating a social media campaign.
Upon successful completion, students will be able to:

Courses are designed to prepare participants for positions that require knowledge of converging media:
Professionals who need to know how social media can be used for marketing and advertising.
Limited computer experience is needed to take these courses. You are required to have a laptop or tablet that you can bring to each class.
A Certificate of Completion will be awarded upon the completion of five required courses. All courses provide Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Prerequisites are listed with the description of each class. Coursework of registered students will be recorded on a permanent CSUDH transcript.
A Certificate of Completion is awarded upon successful completion of the required courses.
Note: Once you have completed all the required courses, you may request your certificate via our online application. The processing time is approximately 6-8 weeks from the time of submission, and includes both a digital certificate link and a printed physical certificate.

The program consists of 5 courses totaling about 48 hours of instruction.
You will learn all about topics having to do with viral momentum, distributing content across social media platforms, identifying your audience and connecting/building them into a community.

You will be creating content that is specifically designed to inspire positive responses and encourages engagement with targeted audience.
Catherine Clinch is a longtime WGA member and former Board of Directors member and seasoned TV veteran, Catherine's produced script credits include: Hunter, Jake & The Fatman, Knight Rider, Love Boat, Hart to Hart, Foul Play, True Confessions, and, most recently, Rescue Bots. She has taught as an adjunct assistant professor in advanced video production, screenwriting, convergence media and communication theory at California State University Dominguez Hills. She was Associate Publisher of Creative Screenwriting Magazine and was a key organizer of the first five years of Screenwriting Expo.
She writes for Cultural Weekly and Studio System News, exploring media and technology - from mobile and apps to games, second screen and online digital - and blogs for The Huffington Post. Catherine serves as a media strategy and content advisor for companies through her consultancy Media Grazing. In the past two years, she has participated in 14 Hackathons and won prizes for her app inventions at five of them. Catherine has also been awarded two US Patents for inventing a new form of mobile entertainment.

There are no prerequisites for enrollment and no admission process. When you're ready to register for courses, call 310-243-3741 (Option 1). If you have previously taken a class at CSUDH, you can register at myCSUDH (https://my.csudh.edu).
The deadline to enroll for courses for most certificate programs is FOUR (4) BUSINESS DAYS or earlier before the class begins; please check the Course Schedule for the program to ensure that you can enroll on time.
