Minor in Child Development

Minor in Child Development (18 units)

The Minor in Child Development introduces students to the study of child and adolescent development. Students will gain foundational, theoretical, and applied knowledge necessary for working with children, adolescents, and families, complementing a variety of majors.

All Child Development courses applied to Minor in Child Development must be passed with a grade of "C" or better.

Students enrolled in the Minor in Child Development program may take specialized courses after completing three of the foundational courses (CDV 150, CDV 325, CDV 330, and CDV 360). Minors may request permission numbers for specialized courses from their minor advisor or the Child Development Department to override any remaining prerequisites.
