Office of Global & International Programs

The Office for Global and International Programs, housed in the College of Extended & International Education, provides support for the internationalization efforts in the CSUDH Strategic Plan.  The office focuses on implementing and expanding the University’s international efforts supporting all CSUDH students international learning, international students who come to CSUDH for undergraduate and graduate degree programs, increasing study abroad opportunities for CSUDH students, as well as providing special programs such as English as a Second Language and the Study Abroad America Semester at CSUDH.  The office also identifies other meaningful and impactful international experiences for students and faculty.  The office encourages and supports departments and programs to infuse international and global awareness experiences into their curricula and co-curricular experiences to assist students in exploring cultures, U.S. diversity, world cultures and challenges around the world for freedom, equity and human rights.  The central administrative office is located in the Extended Education 1300 Building (EE1300).  The general phone line is: (310) 243-3737.  The office website can be found at:

American Language and Culture Program:  Intensive English Program

The American Language and Culture Program (ALCP) offers an intensive English as a Second Language program for international students. Each session lasts eight-weeks for ESL students with academic or professional goals, including passing the TOEFL or IELTS for entrance to CSUDH or another university. Through Conditional Admissions, students who meet the academic requirements to be admitted to CSUDH but do not have sufficient English language skills can be admitted with the condition of completing sufficient English language training through ALCP. Once students achieve high enough English language proficiency, they can enroll at CSUDH without having to take the TOEFL test. The 21-26 hours per week program offers a coordinated program of conversation, grammar, writing, reading/vocabulary, pronunciation and listening. Students from all over the world enroll in this multi-level program and can continue to improve their skills by advancing from session to session. The International Students Services (ISS) office provides services to international students who are studying for undergraduate and graduate degree programs at CSUDH. ISS also coordinates cultural and social events that allow our students to share their national heritage and become involved with the campus community. The office is located in EE 1300. Staff provide support for international students interested in studying for a degree program at CSUDH. This includes providing information to respond to questions about CSUDH degree programs and assisting students through the application and admissions process until they are accepted and come to study at CSUDH. International Training Programs

International Training Programs are provided with a wide range of services and information for diverse audiences, including small and large groups that include government officials, business executives, scholars and students. Passport Acceptance Center

CSUDH serves as a Passport Acceptance Center for faculty, staff, students, alumni and the CSUDH community.  Anyone needing to apply for a new passport or update their current passport can submit their application on the California State University Dominguez Hills campus.  The Passport Acceptance Center at CSUDH is located in Small College, SCC-A136. Study Abroad Programs

The Study Abroad Office provides opportunities for all CSU Dominguez Hill’s students to study abroad for a year, semester, summer, or other short-term options as a part of the CSUDH degree.  Studying abroad is one of the most academically rewarding experiences a student can have.   Spend time studying in a foreign country while enrolled at CSUDH.  Become immersed in the culture, history, and academic life of a brand new country while making progress toward your degree. Study Abroad America: Semester at CSUDH

International students who want to study in America for one semester or two have an opportunity to spend a semester at CSUDH and either take all university courses or a mixture of English as a Second Language and university courses. This program allows international students who do not want to do a full degree at CSUDH experience American culture, study an array of classes, and enjoy the rich Southern California society for one semester or an academic year.
