How to Participate

Participating in the Ceremony

Step 1: Apply for Graduation

Each prospective graduate must apply for graduation. The graduation application is available online via MyCSUDH Student Center portal. The graduation fee is due 48 hours after submission and payment can be submitted online, by mail or dropped off at the Cashier’s Office dropbox (no cash accepted, must include student ID on the check).

More information about applying for graduation is available on the Graduation Application web page. Please direct any additional questions regarding graduation procedures to the Office of Records and Registration at (310) 243-3645.

Step 2: Register for Commencement

In order to participate in the spring Commencement exercises, you must register your intent by completing the online Commencement Participation form.

The deadline for registering is April 16. This is a hard deadline, and no exceptions will be made. Due to health and safety regulations, we must have an accurate count of the students participating in order to plan the event. Information about how to register guests will be sent after April 16.

Class of 2020 (students who graduated in Fall 2019, Spring 2020, or Summer 2020): Register via Eventbrite by April 16.

Class of 2021 (students who graduated in Fall 2020, or will graduate in Spring or Summer 2021): Access the form in the MyCSUDH Student Center portal. Log into your MyCSUDH account and look for the "Commencement Participation" link located in the "Important Student Links" box in your Student Center by April 16.
