CSUDH Department of Computer Science

The Computer Science department strives for excellence in the discipline and profession. We strive to provide the best quality of education to our students at all levels.

Computer Science department prepares students for a successful professional career into advanced studies or the professional industry. We are committed on providing the resources students of all backgrounds need to succeed and thrive in the field. With the skills learned though our programs, our students are fully equipped to help solve today’s problems.  Additionally, we support our faculty efforts to expand the body of knowledge by disseminating their findings in publications, our faculty are involved in the curriculum development and pedagogical innovations.

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org

  • DEADLINE APPROACHING—Intent to Submit Thesis/Project Form for Spring 2020

    Intent to Submit Thesis/Project forms for Spring 2020, are due February 10. 

    The Intent to Submit form must be submitted on time, and we will be making no exceptions for late forms. Students who have asked to be moved from previous semesters will need to submit new, updated forms and I encourage them to reach out to me should they have any questions about this.

    Please join us to learn about the STEM Advantage Scholars program, which is
    available to students earning a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science,
    Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Mathematics,
    Engineering, or a related field at Cal State Dominguez Hills, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State LA, Cal State Long Beach, Cal State Northridge, and Cal Poly Pomona.

  • Open Source Workshop on Sunday December 2nd
    CSUDH students! Come learn about Open Source Software (OSS) at the FREE 1-day workshop (December 2 from 9:30am to 5pm @ SCC800). The Computer Science Department is partnering with the non-profit EquitableTech to produce this event. Workshop details will be emailed to those who register online at EquitableTech.org. Space will be limited so please sign-up soon! Registration deadline Wednesday November 21. Lunch will be provided to those who register online. Same day walk-ins are welcome; but, there’s no guarantee of food. Direct questions to info@EquitableTech.org.
