The Secondary Special Education Teacher Interventionist (SSETI) Program is a federally funded program by the U.S. Department of Education, which seeks to recruit, train, place and support recent college graduates, mid-career professionals, or paraprofessionals. Through this SSETI grant, we are able to offer teacher candidates an alternative path toward teacher certification.
SSETI offers an accelerated credential program, exclusive access to courses, three-year individualized coaching for participants, job placement and tuition reimbursement. We will be with you every step of the way to make sure you become a successful teacher! After you complete our program, we will provide you with opportunities for growth.
Under federal guidelines, our program is designed to serve recent college graduates (within three years) who have graduated with a degree in English, social science, mathematics or science or a closely related field, mid-career professionals with substantial career experience in math or science and paraprofessionals with substantial career experience in the content area. The SSETI Program cannot accept candidates with prior teaching experience and credential coursework.
We are looking for recent college graduates (within the last three years) or mid-career professionals who have never taught and who have not taken any credentialing courses elsewhere. Applicants much have the following to be considered for SSETI:

If you do not qualify at the moment, do not worry. Our staff will be more than happy to meet with you and go over the necessary steps to complete the requirements in order to participate in the program. If you do not qualify for our program, we will give you the steps required to enter the traditional credential program at CSUDH.
All program participants will receive a $7,250 stipend to help with tuition costs. Students may also apply for financial aid through www.fafsa.ed.gov. In addition, you will also be earning a full-time salary as a teacher while completing the program.
In one year, program participants will earn a mild/moderate credential while teaching as university interns in middle schools or high schools of high need districts across the state of California.
