Faculty Affairs & Development

Welcome to the Office of Faculty Affairs & Development at California State University, Dominguez Hills, located within the Division of Academic Affairs. Faculty Affairs & Development is responsible for professional, personnel, and labor relation services for faculty, librarians, counselors, as well as Teaching Associates, Graduate Assistants, and Instructional Student Assistants.

Faculty Affairs & Development serves as a central clearinghouse for faculty-related procedures, policies, and programs. It is responsible for assisting faculty as they move through the University from appointment to retirement.

The Associate Vice President for Faculty Affairs & Development works closely with Deans, Associate Deans, and Department Chairs on matters related to faculty tenure and promotion, recruitment and retention, as well as the interpretation of provisions of the CSU-CFA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Mission Statement

With an emphasis on quality and responsive service, the Office of Faculty Affairs & Development provides many of the human resources needs of the University’s academic personnel within the Division of Academic Affairs.  Faculty Affairs & Development is responsible for many broad, academic-related programs and activities, which include full-time academic recruitment, all faculty evaluation processes, and various kinds of leaves of absence. With the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and different campus policies as governing authorities, Faculty Affairs and Development strive to meet the needs of the University’s  faculty concerns while addressing the complex and sensitive matters that can, directly and indirectly, impact them.
