The Faculty Development Center provides high-quality, reliable support for using technology in the learning process. In response to the changing needs of our university, FDC provides training, information, and workshops on the latest technologies, applications, software, and hardware. The Faculty Development Center provides pedagogical best practices using technology to enhance course goals and objectives.

We are pleased to announce the following workshops for faculty. All informational technology workshops are in the Faculty Digital Lab, LIB 2524, on the second floor across the hall from the entrance to the new library.

Blackboard Hands-on Training

This session will provide a basic overview of Blackboard. We will cover basic navigation in the Blackboard interface as well as how to add, organize, and modify course content.

Advanced Blackboard

This advanced Blackboard session will provide information on the features of Blackboard, such as creating online Assessment and Discussion Forums that can make course management easier.

Lecture Capture (TechSmith Relay & YouTube)

Lecture Capture technology lets instructors digitally record their lectures and make those recordings available to students.

Web Conferencing Tools (Blackboard Collaborate and ZOOM)

This session is useful for recording lectures and having live sessions (class sessions and office hours) for your classes. Come learn how to use this useful tool.

Turnitin is an online plagiarism checker that you will be submitting your assignments to. When you submit your assignment, it will be compared and cross-checked with those contained in Turnitin's database.
