Graduate Application Instructions


The following programs include an online or off-campus component and do not qualify for F-1 Visa Issuance: Humanities (HUX), Online MBA, Online MPA, Online NCRP, and Online Quality Assurance. 

The following programs are closed to International Graduate Applicants: All Certificate Programs, Education School Leadership CASLA, Interdisciplinary Studies, Marital and Family Therapy, MSW-Part Time, Nursing, and School and College Counseling.

Many graduate programs require an additional application and/or other documentation for admission consideration. Please be aware that graduate application deadlines and documents differ by program. Contact your program of interest for specific application steps, dates, and requirements.

While we will continue to admit as many applicants as possible, due to the limited number of spaces available, applicants are encouraged to apply early and submit all documents prior to deadlines. Your application will be withdrawn if deadlines are not met.

How to Apply: Review the website, and Apply Online at submitting the application online, activate your Campus Account at account and check your To Do List and your ToroMail regularly, and meet document deadlines.

Please note: Graduate, Extension & Post-Baccalaureate applicants are not eligible for application fee waivers. For application guides click on the following: 

Complete and accurate application information is essential:  Failure to file complete, accurate, and authentic application documents may result in denial of admission, cancellation of registration or academic credit, suspension, or expulsion (Section 41301, Article 1.1, Title 5, California Code of Regulations).

Email Address - IMPORTANT Make sure you activate and monitor your ToroMail email account. Important and critical admission information will be sent to this address. Make sure you review your account regularly and do not block messages from the campus.

Official transcripts are required from all previously attended colleges and universities, including the school you are currently attending, whether coursework was completed or not (even if the courses appear on another transcript). This includes transcripts for ESL coursework.  Also, the Baccalaureate degree must be conferred by Summer 2020 for Fall 2020 admission, Fall 2020 for Spring 2021 admission or Summer 2021 for Fall 2021 admission.

Your application will be withdrawn if deadlines are not met.

Academic records received by CSUDH will become the property of the university and will not be returned to the student or forwarded to any other institution or agency.
