TRANSFER STUDENT APPLICATION CHECKLIST

STEP 1: GATHER YOUR INFO

You’ll need to have:

  • Your official transcripts from all institutions attended
  • The $70 application fee*

*You can request a fee waiver when applying online at Cal State Apply. Fee waivers are only available to qualified CA residents from low-income families.


STEP 2: APPLY

Complete your application and pay the $70 fee online at Cal State Apply.


STEP 3: SEND US YOUR OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS

Your official transcripts from all institutions attended should be mailed to:

Carson, CA 90747

NOTE: Electronic transcripts are preferred.

STEP 4: ACTIVATE MYCSUDH USERNAME AND ACCOUNT

Please follow the below steps to locate your CSUDH Username:

  1. Go to: csudh.edu/username
  2. Enter your CSUDH ID number (Your ID number is located on your acceptance email and letter).
  3. Click on “Look up Username”, please write down your username this is what you will use to log into your MyCSUDH (Student Portal).
  4. Click on option that reads “For first-time users, click HERE to activate your account.”
  5. On the next page, enter your Username, and current password. The current password is your 6-digit birthdate (MMDDYY).
  6. Click on “Go to Password Reset Form.”
  7. Enter your Username. Create two security questions. Once answers are entered, enter a new password. 
    (For security purposes, your password must be a minimum of 12 characters and a combination of Upper and lower case letters, numbers, and symbols. Do not use your name in the new password.)
  8. Re-enter your new password.
  9. Click “Change Password."
  10. You should receive a confirmation showing you have successfully changed your password.
  11. Next, visit MyCSUDH.edu.
  12. Enter your User ID (this is your username) and your new password.
  13. Click “Sign In” to access your account.

STEP 5: SUBMIT YOUR INTENT TO ENROLL AND REGISTER FOR NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION (NSO) BY MAY 1ST

  • Accept or Decline your admissions to CSUDH
  • Submit your $125 non-refundable Intent to Enroll Deposit by May 1, 2019
  • Submit your $99 non-refundable New Student Orientation (NSO) Fee by May 1, 2019 and register for a NSO date

To qualify for the intent to enroll deposit waiver, you must have filed a 2019-2020 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act application by March 2, 2019 with CSUDH school code 001141, and received a Student Aid Report (SAR) with an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of $0.

Students who filed a FAFSA or California Dream Act application after March 2 will not be eligible for the waiver. There are no exceptions.

The Intent to Enroll deposit AND New Student Orientation fee are non-refundable, even if your admission is revoked. Initial admission decisions are conditional and based on self-reported information. Final admission confirmation is validated upon the submission of final official transcripts by July 15, 2019.

REDIRECTED  & CONDITIONALLY ADMITTED STUDENTS:  Your admission decision was based on self-reported information from your application for admission.  If you don't complete the required courses with grades of "C" or better, maintain the overall GPA of 2.0, and meet all deadlines, your admission will be revoked.  Even if you have met all other requirements and have already registered for classes.  Once we receive your final official documents, we'll perform a final review of your eligibility to confirm your admission to CSUDH.  Official documents are due July 15, 2019.

*Students admitted to the following programs are not required to attend General NSO or pay the General NSO Fee: Applied Studies, Nursing, Quality Assurance, and all Certificate Programs. You will receive information directly from your academic department if a program-specific orientation is required.

STEP 6: APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID

Apply between October 1 – March 2.


STEP 7: APPLY FOR HOUSING

If you plan on living in University Housing, apply online to reserve your space as soon as possible.
