School of Public Health & Health Sciences (formerly Department of Health Sciences)

Program Overview

The Healthcare Management and Community Health options are designed for practicing health professionals and future community health and healthcare management personnel. Students may also apply to the Radiologic Technology option, which is designed for individuals already licensed in Radiography who wish to earn a BS degree. Since many students work during the day, most School of Public Health and Health Sciences courses are offered in the late afternoon, evening, and on weekends, and most meet only once a week. All Radiologic Technology option classes are taught online. To keep the School of Public Health and Health Sciences programs contemporary, many of the Health Sciences courses are taught by practicing professionals.

Preparation

Students interested in healthcare management or community health may complete their lower division general education requirements, preferably with an associate of science degree, before coming to CSU Dominguez Hills. Students applying for the Radiologic Technology option must already hold national certification or a state license to qualify for admission.

Credit for Prior Health Education

If students have completed a Radiologic Technology program for which they did not receive academic credit, they may be granted credit for that education. Please consult the School of Public Health and Health Sciences office for details.
