Staff Awards of Excellence

The CSUDH Staff Awards of Excellence are intended to recognize exemplary service by staff members and are presented annually to employees in each of three categories: Innovation, Student Success and Customer Service.

Recipients of Staff Awards of Excellence will have made a significant impact on the university through outstanding dedication, competence, exceptional performance, excellent service to students, and ingenuity. Staff can be nominated in multiple categories, but may only receive an award in one of the three categories. An outstanding employee will be selected for each of the following awards:

  • Innovation Award
    Using creativity and innovation to streamline and/or improve business processes and services to students and the campus community.
    Example: Actively adopting and using new technology designed to increase efficiency and effectiveness while reducing costs.
  • Student Success Award
    Promote student success by creating and supporting an environment of teaching and learning that assists in the recruitment, transition, retention, and graduation of students.
    Example: Taking extra steps to ensure students receive the best possible academic/career/financial aid advising.
  • Customer Service Award
    Demonstrates exemplary customer service for students, employees, and guests.
    Example: Service to students or colleagues that goes beyond what is expected or required by being generally helpful, responding to inquiries in a timely manner, and resolving issues quickly.

Awards of Excellence recipients each receive:

  • $1,000 cash award
  • An Award of Excellence plaque
  • Recognition at the Staff Awards Ceremony
