iPad and Laptop Loans

Computers can be incredibly helpful when you're a student. The CSUDH Library realizes this and knows that not everybody has a computer of their own. Because of this, we are pleased to be able to offer an iPad and laptop loan program. The program has 30 iPad 2s and 99 Dell Latitude D630 laptops.

Who Can Borrow?

The technology checkout program is available to currently registered undergraduate and graduate students. In order to check out a laptop or iPad during the Summer or Winter sessions, you must be registered to take classes during those sessions. This means that if you are enrolled for Fall semester classes and want to check out a laptop or iPad in mid-July, you cannot do so.

How Can I Borrow?

Students must fill out a Master Rental Agreement (MRA) once per fiscal year. The MRA covers things like fees for lost and broken laptops and iPads. Once a student has filled out the MRA, he or she must wait for approximately 24 hours before checking out a laptop or iPad. This wait period is in place due to the time it takes to verify that the student is currently enrolled and to enter their information into the program's checkout system.

How Long Can I Borrow?

Laptop loans are for 1 week (7 days). There is a 1 day lapse between loan periods to ensure that all students have access to laptops and iPads. This means that if you have just returned a laptop or iPad, you will not be able to check out another one until 24 hours have passed.

What Are The Late Fees?

There is no charge to students to use the Technology Checkout program. However, there are fees if laptops and iPads are returned late, broken, or lost.
