Career Overview

Dr. Laurent has been a professor, Licensed Psychologist, and Licensed Marital & Family Therapy for over 25 years. He's taught numerous Marital & Family Therapy courses and training courses at the practicum level utilizing evidence-based clinical supervision. His specialty areas include African American Psychology, African American men's issues, African American families, diversity training in education and the workplace, culturally sensitive clinical diagnosis, and couples’ techniques to improve verbal and sexual communication. Dr. Laurent offers media (television & radio) expertise in cross-cultural issues in America, social oppression/protest, critical race theory, and cultural intersectionality.
