Application Filing Dates

Applicants should have their Cal State Apply applications complete and all official transcripts submitted to University Admissions/MPA Office by admission material deadline dates.

For the Fall admissions, applications will be available beginning on October 1 of the previous year. For the Spring admissions, applications will be available of August 1 of the previous year.

**Deadlines listed on the Cal State Apply may be different than the Department's deadlines below. We cannot guarantee that applications/documents submitted after the Department deadlines will be processed prior to the start of the semester.



MPA Online

The online MPA has two formats, which are based on the concentration selected. Please review the Program Overview page for more details on the schedule/concentration options. The 12 and 8 week label describes the length of the courses, not the program.

MPA - Public Management Concentration only (12 week format)

The MPA online program with a concentration in Public Management is offered in four 12-week sessions each year, and currently accepts new students during the Fall sessions - Fall 1 and 2.

MPA - Specialized Concentrations* only (8 week format)

*Criminal Justice Policy & Adminsitration, Health Care Policy & Administration, and Nonprofit Management

The MPA online program with concentrations in Criminal Justice Policy & Administration, Health Care Policy & Administration, and Nonprofit Management is offered in three 16 week sessions each year, Spring, Summer, and Fall and currently accepts new students in both the Fall and Spring sessions.

MPA On-Campus

The MPA on-campus program runs only two semesters per year - Fall and Spring. We currently accept new applicants only for the Fall semester. Applications will be available beginning on October 1 of the previous year.

**Please note, State University Grants are awarded to students demonstrating financial need AND submit their FAFSA by March 2 for Fall admission.

Application Fees

An application fee of $55 in U.S. funds, payable to CSUDH, must accompany your application. The fee is nonrefundable and may not be transferred to another term and/or to another campus.**Application material received and accepted after the published deadline may incur an additional $15.00 application fee and requires approval from the Department. 



**Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. The deadlines listed above are final deadlines and should viewed as such. Applicants generally receive an admissions decision 4-6 weeks after all documents have been received.
