The Presidential Scholars Program at CSUDH recognizes excellence by providing outstanding students from our community greater opportunities to further their education and fulfill their potential. CSUDH recognizes and rewards our distinguished Presidential Scholars with a wide range of benefits.

* As the Presidential Scholarship is the most prestigious and fully funded award, students selected to be Presidential Scholars are not allowed to receive the Katherine B. Loker Scholarship or the University Honors Scholarship.

Financial Assistance

Our Presidential Scholars receive substantial financial awards and assistance that go a long way toward financing their CSUDH education. These include:

  • Full in-state fees for up to four years of study for freshmen and up to two years for transfers
  • Annual book allowance
  • $500 annual University On-Campus Housing Discount
  • Annual parking permit

Priority Registration

CSUDH Presidential Scholars are given priority registration. This allows them to secure a course schedule that challenges them to learn while allowing them to participate in research opportunities, campus leadership, clubs and organizations, and other co-curricular pursuits.

Special Recognition and Events

CSUDH makes every effort to ensure our community recognizes the achievements of our Presidential Scholars. This includes special recognition at CSUDH's commencement ceremony during which graduating Scholars receive a Presidential Scholar medallion, a fall recognition reception with CSUDH President Parham, and special events held throughout the academic year.

In addition to the financial and social benefits, Presidential Scholars are gifted a laptop stocked with all the software they will need for their major. Laptop brands vary depending on students' needs and include programs such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Create Suite.
