CSUDH Student ID Card

Due to virtual instruction and COVID-19, student ID cards will not be issued. You do not need a student ID card to receive on-campus services. If you need to verify your enrollment to receive off-campus services, please request a free Enrollment Verification (EV) via email to admit@csudh.edu. In the email, be sure to include your CSUDH student ID number and the semester for which you are requesting the verification.

Photo Requirements

  • A recent photo of you and only you.
  • Include a space between the top of your head and the top of the image (similar to a Passport or Identification photo).
  • Look straight at the camera (no side profiles).
  • The photo must be taken in front of a plain white or off-white background.
  • Borders or filters are not allowed.
  • Must be in color with a contrasting background.
  • Avoid red eye or flash reflection from glasses or contact lenses.
  • Hats or head coverings that obscures the hair or hairline are not allowed, unless worn daily for a religious purpose.
  • Your face must be fully visible, and the head covering (nor garments or jewelry of any kind) may not cast any shadows on your face.
  • Sunglasses, dark glasses with tinted lenses, headphones, wireless hands-free devices, or similar items are not allowed.
  • If you normally wear glasses, a hearing device, or similar articles, they may be worn in the photo.

Frequently Asked Questions 

I can’t find my ID Card. What should I do?

Please submit a new photo and the $5 replacement fee will be charged to your student account.

I don’t like my picture; can I submit another photo?

Once you submit a picture, you are unable to submit another picture. Please review the picture before submission.

Can I get more than one copy?

Students are only allowed to have one copy of their ID card. All other copies should be properly disposed. We will confiscate any inactive or invalid card presented.

What if my name changes?

Please submit the Name/Address Change Request form with documentation to Admissions and Records. Once it’s processed, you can order a new ID card. Please note, your ID number will not change.

Do I need to update my ID every semester?

No, you will keep the same ID card until you graduate.

Can I use my card after I graduate?

ID Cards will be deactivated after graduation. 

If you reapply for another degree, you will need to purchase a new ID to reflect your new student status.

What is the replacement fee?

The ID card replacement fee is $5.00.

Who has access to my information?

Strict privacy rules govern the release of information concerning individual students. The Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act, commonly known as FERPA, makes mandatory the protection of students' privacy in regard to the educational records of current and former California State University, Dominguez Hills students. Certain information, referred to as "Directory Information", may be disclosed to individuals other than the owner of the record without prior consent.
