Message From Our Director

Thank you for visiting our Student Support Services (SSS) TRIO Program Web Page at CSUDH. My name is Elizabeth Hanna. I am the SSS Program Director, and it is my pleasure to share information about our program with you. SSS at CSUDH is a federally funded program through the Department of Education designed to assist and support 160 first generation and low-income undergraduate students; students with disabilities and former foster youth working to complete their baccalaureate degree. SSS belongs to a family of federal education programs designed to support high potential students achieve their dreams of academic success within high school, college, and beyond. SSS supports its participants by providing a myriad of services including academic coaching and advising, tutoring, peer mentoring, computer lab access, school supplies, cultural exploration activities, academic and skills development workshops, financial literacy training, professional development, networking, and graduate school preparation opportunities.

As a program and a university, we are sincerely committed to ensuring that we provide a welcoming environment that embraces the unique qualities and strengths that each participant embodies, lend each member essential academic and personal support, and challenge each participant to persist, excel, and complete their undergraduate degree.

Our staff is dedicated to the achievement and success of its participants and by employing services patterned after the best practices in student retention and success we are successful in assisting our participants navigate their college experience. As a current staff member and former TRIO participant, I can personally attest to the power that SSS has in positively impacting the lives of participants by providing them with opportunities to fully realize their academic potential.

Please feel free to look through our sight. We encourage all CSUDH students who believe that they meet the eligibility criteria and are interested in receiving services to apply.
