Why Get Involved?

Passport to Career Readiness will jump-start your preparation for your career. The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) has identified eight key competencies for career readiness. Through our program, you will develop an awareness of these key skills in the areas that employers desire the most.

Passport to Career Readiness is open to any CSUDH student at any class level. It takes approximately 8 months to complete the program.

Participation in these activities will be tracked by departments and the Office of Student Life. Credit will be documented under your PATH on Toro Link. 


To earn a certificate and medal, students must complete the following requirements:

  NACE Core Competency Workshops (All 8 required):

  1. Critical Thinking/Problem Solving
  2. Career Management
  3. Leadership
  4. Digital Technology
  5. Professionalism/Work Ethic
  6. Oral/Written Communications
  7. Global/Intercultural Fluency
  8. Teamwork/Collaboration

  Career Component:

  Reflection Component:

 Participants are required to complete a short 1-2 page written reflection after completing the workshops.

To Participate in Passport to Career Readiness:

  1. Go to the Passport to Career Readiness page on Toro Link.
  2. Click on the Join button.
  3. Fill out the Passport Intake Form, which is linked to on the page.
  4. Start attending workshops.
  5. Track your progress by clicking on your initial in the upper right hand corner of the home page of Toro Link, then clicking on Paths under the menu.
  6. All Passport workshops are listed under the events tab.
