Complete your teaching credential and master's in 18 months.

One of the region's only program of its kind, the Urban Teacher Residency (UTR) Program at CSUDH prepares students to become exceptionally prepared math and science teachers certified to teach in local high-needs urban schools.

Ideal for recent college graduates and mid-career professionals with a background in math and science, UTR enables students to earn a Single Subject Credential qualifying them to teach math or science in middle and high school while also completing their Master of Arts in Education in just 18 months.

Through an intensive year-long residency at a partnering school, UTR students benefit from hands-on teaching experiences under the guidance of a mentor teacher. Students also earn a $20,000 stipend to offset the cost of living while completing their residency and training. Learn more about the program's benefits.

The UTR program is no longer accepting applications.  For information about other teacher credential programs.
