Tristian Mitchell, LCSW is an extremely proud Black man, hailing from South LA. A believer that "good and true" social work practice is the gateway to healing and progress for marginalized communities, he encourages the preservation of folks' humanity and dignity as the first step in the work. He has spent the last several years working in both inpatient and outpatient medical settings where disparities in healthcare are ever present, currently serving as a Clinical Supervisor for a community-based palliative care program. Additionally, he has brought his experience to the classroom, serving as one of CSUDH MSW program's new adjunct professors.

His goal is to bring his experience and knowledge into the classroom in an effort to not only teach the fundamentals of medical social work and working with older adults, but to help shape the next generation of social workers into agents of change who are committed to tipping the inequitable scales of healthcare.
