Dr. Burnett is a resident of Southern California. She has several years of experience as a field instructor and clinical supervisor, dedicating her career to mentoring/supervising students, preparing them for the working world with communities that have faced economic, health, developmental and racial challenges.

Currently, she has a Mental Health Consulting Firm, assisting non-profit agencies with obtaining Mental Health Certification, and works part-time as Clinical Supervisor for Star View, managing clinical performance and quality of services. Before this, she was a Lead Primary Therapist, assessing for medical necessity and treating clients with substance abuse disorders. She served as a Director of Quality Assurance for a substance abuse treatment center, ensuring the delivery of quality clinical services and compliance with agency policies.

She is familiar with compliance and standards of California and federal governing entities and industry guidelines and best practices. This combination of skills has prepared her to develop and manage comprehensive programs while forging relationships with community leaders and partners.

She knows the value of demonstrating a commitment to the field, leading by example by engaging in community service, serving on committees, and supervising student research. Her vast knowledge within the field will provide students the foundation and clinical skills to assess and develop interventions to treat clients.
