Course Description/Schedule

Course Requirements

This course is offered on a credit/no credit (CR/NC) basis. Students must earn a grade of CR to sit for the National Certifying Exam (NREMT).  Success in the course with a grade of CR will be determined by:

  • Participating in all class activities
  • Demonstrating mastery of course objectives
  • Demonstrating professional and ethical behavior
  • Meeting minimum attendance, quiz and test scores, and ride-along requirements

Attendance Policy 

  • Student attendance is required for the entire period of each class meeting in order to receive credit (CR) for the course
  • Student participation in scheduled ride-alongs is required in order to receive credit (CR) for the course
  • Course uniform must be worn to each class session and ride along

Evaluation Policy

  • Quizzes: cumulative score of 80% minimum
  • Unit exams: cumulative score of 70%
  • Final exam: minimum passing score of 70%
  • Skills Final Exams: pass/no pass with at least 80%, and 100% on all critical criteria
  • Ride-alongs: minimum of 36 hours and contact 10 field patients
