Get Trained at CSUDH through WIOA Funding!
The College of Continuing and Professional Education (CCPE) at CSUDH offers several programs eligible for funding under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
See our approved list of programs below ▼
WIOA is a federal government initiative that helps job seekers access training and employment. Funding is managed by local career centers, which may be referred to using a title like One-Stop Business & Career Center, America’s Job Center (AJCC), WorkSource Center, Job Center, etc.
Eligible individuals include adults and dislocated workers — for example, those who are unemployed, collecting unemployment, displaced homemakers, single parents, self-employed individuals, military spouses, and more. It's worth exploring your options with your local center.
Seeking WIOA Funding? Here’s How to Begin:
- To begin this process and determine if you are eligible, use the America Job Center Finder based on your home zip code, and contact your local career centers. We recommend calling them directly.
- Different centers will have different criteria and varying amounts of funds available.
Important:
Before signing up and committing to one of these centers, be sure to ask these three important questions:
- "Do you currently have WIOA funding available?"
- "Does your center provide funding for [insert your CSUDH program title of interest]?"
- If you know the program’s anticipated start date*, also ask:
"The anticipated start date is [date] and the program runs [XX weeks]. Would your center be able to support this?"
* (To obtain this information, complete and send the WIOA Interest Form and a WIOA representative will respond with an email that contains this information.)
If they say yes to all three, you can begin the intake process with a case manager. If not, try contacting another center to find what you are looking for.
Once You’ve Established Your Center:
You will typically either:
- Give your case manager our contact information, and they will reach out to us directly.
—OR— - Receive a form from your case manager to complete, which includes information about your chosen CSUDH program. Most of the information is available on our website, but if you need any assistance filling out the form, feel free to contact the CSUDH WIOA office.
Your case manager will determine if you and the program can be approved, based on their criteria. Once approved, they will guide you on their center’s next steps.
Please note that CSUDH does not determine eligibility, but we do work with the case manager to facilitate the registration and certificate completion processes.
