CSUDH's instructor-led Human Resource Management program is conducted live online, using Zoom and the Blackboard Learning Management System. Live virtual class sessions will be conducted at the day/time indicated in the program schedule. Attendance and participation via Zoom at all class sessions is required.

THE CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

SHRM recertification providerThe Human Resource Management Certificate program provides the knowledge and practical skills for career enhancement and job advancement in Human Resource management. The focus is on current business and personnel management systems, and participants learn how to successfully meet the challenges encountered in today's competitive business environments. California State University Dominguez Hills is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CPSM or SHRM-SCPSM. This program is valid for 45 PDCs for the SHRM-CPSM or SHRM-SCPSM. For more information about certification or recertification, please visit www.shrmcertification.org.The program also provides 45 recertification credits toward PHR (Professional in Human Resources) and SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) re-certification.

Topics covered include compensation, benefits, communication dynamics, establishing human resource systems, and labor and employment law.

Location

All classes are held live online via Zoom. Human Resource Management classes are convenient for people living and working in or near Los Angeles, Torrance, Long Beach, Carson, Compton, El Segundo, Palos Verdes, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, San Pedro, Hawthorne, Gardena, Lakewood, Paramount, Bellflower, Downey, Inglewood and other parts of the South Bay and Southern California. On-site instruction is also available.

Eligibility Requirements

This course is open to all students interested in entering or learning more about the Human Resource field.

Special Features

All classes are scheduled in the evenings to meet the needs of working adults. Courses are offered for Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Nationally recognized standards govern attendance requirements to earn CEU credit. A permanent record of attendance is established and students may obtain a copy of their transcripts online or by calling the Cashier's Office at 310-243-3821.

A Certificate of Completion is awarded upon successful completion of four required courses. Students may attend classes in any order, and can take individual classes if they do not desire a certificate. Courses can be completed in as little as one term. 

This program is approved for funding through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).

A Certificate of Completion is awarded upon successful completion of the required courses.

Note: Once you have completed all the required courses, you may request your certificate via our online application. The processing time is approximately 6-8 weeks from the time of submission, and includes both a digital certificate link and a printed physical certificate.

When you're ready to register for courses, call 310-243-3741 (Option 1).
If you have previously taken a class at CSUDH, you can register at myCSUDH (https://my.csudh.edu) using your CSUDH account.

The deadline to enroll for courses for most certificate programs is FOUR (4) BUSINESS DAYS or earlier before the class begins; please check the Course Schedule for the program to ensure that you can enroll on time.
