Note: This program is for PK-12 Public School Educators in the State of California only.
This program will prepare California PK-12 teachers to understand, teach, and integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) responsibly into their classroom and curriculum. With the passage of California Assembly Bill 2876 all California Teachers are required to integrate AI into the core curriculum for all public PK-12 students in the state. Rollout for the statewide integration of AI literacy will begin during the 2025-2026 school year, and learners will be able to immediately apply lessons learned from the program into their classroom.
The integration of AI and the requirement to teach about AI in education is projected to significantly increase as AI tools and applications become more widespread in classrooms and society at large. As Assembly Member Berman stated, “AI has the potential to positively impact the way we live, but only if we know how to use it, and use it responsibly.”
Complete three, 15-week courses to earn your certificate and become a highly qualified educator, ready to bring AI into the classroom.
PK-12 teachers will leave this program with a deeper understanding of Artificial Intelligence in PK-12 education, including how to teach about, and integrate AI. Takeaways include:
Across all 3 courses, the culminating projects will be an AI-integrated lesson plan and unit plan that teachers can bring back to their classroom to implement with their students.
The program is designed for PK-12 public school teachers in the state of California.
