Course Description

Bloodborne PathogensThis course covers the development and implementation of Exposure Control Plans (ECP) for healthcare facilities. Course topics include understanding the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard, determining potential exposure and methods of control, developing an ECP, vaccinations, training, and record keeping.

Who Should Attend

Program administrators, managers, or other personnel designated with the responsibility of developing a Bloodborne Pathogens ECP for a healthcare facility. Course highlights include students developing a template for their facility’s ECP.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Describe the general requirements of the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens standard
  2. Describe strategies that can be used to minimize exposure
  3. Identify the key provisions of a written Bloodborne Pathogens exposure control plan
  4. Develop a written Bloodborne Pathogens exposure control plan.

  • A stand-alone webcam or secondary device such as a phone for students attending OSHA 510, 511, 500 and 501.
  • Built-in or stand-alone speakers and a microphone
