Course Description

This course provides participants with a number of strategies and techniques for closing the communication and cultural gap within a multicultural workforce. Emphasis is placed on the benefits and challenges of working with a multicultural workforce. This course will analyze the impact of a multicultural workforce to an organization as it relates to occupational safety and health.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Describe the benefits and challenges of having a multicultural workforce
  2. Identify strategies to close the communication and cultural gap in a multicultural workforce
  3. Outline appropriate training strategies to maximize the effectiveness of a training for a multicultural workforce
  4. Define OSHA’s “Right to Understand” policy

  • A laptop with Wi-Fi capability

Online System and Equipment Requirements

  • An internet connection – broadband wired or wireless (3G or 4G/LTE)
  • Access to computer or laptop; one student per device
  • A stand-alone webcam or secondary device such as a phone for students attending OSHA 510, 511, 500 and 501.
  • Built-in or stand-alone speakers and a microphone
