The knowledge and skills necessary to navigate an increasingly diverse campus and interconnected world are substantial. The Division of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Justice (DEIJ) equip faculty, staff, and administrators with a variety of tools and resources necessary to be welcoming and inclusive of our diverse campus community through workshops, seminars, and trainings.

  • Provide robust, on-going DEIJ professional development and training opportunities for all CSUDH employees.
  • Raise campus awareness about issues and topics relevant to DEIJ, with a particular emphasis on anti-racism and racial equity.

Overview

California State University, Dominguez Hills has recently partnered with Academic Impressions, to provide all staff, faculty, and administrators with membership access to a host of training resources such as, on-demand webcasts, self-paced courses, live or virtual conferences. Topic areas range from skills-based trainings for professionals in all areas of higher ed, to leadership trainings on topics such as supervision, personal effectiveness, and diversity, equity & inclusion, and more. Click here to view and learn about this membership.

DEI Foundational Courses

The DEI Foundations courses are an intentional collection of personal development and skill building trainings that provide education and awareness-building, self-reflection, and next steps. Each course consists of short videos, reflective activities, and downloadable materials.

Multicultural Competency Courses

Multicultural Competency courses are designed for individuals who are seeking an opportunity to learn about the benefits of building cultural humility and the techniques to become a more culturally conscious and sensitive individual. Each course consists of short videos, reflective activities, and downloadable materials.

Micro-Certifications

Integrate professional development into your daily routine and establish a solid understanding of advanced DEI concepts in your work by completing a DEI Micro-Certification. Upon signing up, you will get daily emails Monday through Friday with bite-sized videos, activities, and assessments that you can complete in 30 minutes or less each day. Finish the curriculum within the allotted time to request a certificate of completion through Academic Impressions.

USC Racial Equity Leadership Alliance

Overview

California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) is a proud member of the University of Southern California (USC) Racial Equity Leadership Alliance. This 3-year alliance spearheaded by the USC Race and Equity Center, will serve as a tool for achieving our equity goals and improving racial literacy on campus. The alliance provides high-quality, monthly professional development workshops and access to a digital repository of useful tools including virtual learning communities and an online resource library. 


Equity Connect Portal 

As an institutional member of the alliance, all CSUDH employees have access to Equity Connect. Equity Connect is an online portal that contains video recordings and assets from eConvenings, as well as other downloadable racial equity resources. Within the portal, you will also have the ability to form and actively participate in virtual communities of practice. Posing questions of practice, offering advice to colleagues, sharing effective practices, and fostering new collaborations are all possible in the virtual communities.

Monthly eConvening Series

Each month, CSUDH employees will have the opportunity to participate in a live two-hour synchronous eConvening. Each eConvening will allow participants to engage with other CSU professionals and learn from experts who teach in the USC Equity Institutes. The learning sessions will focus on strategies and practical approaches. Instructors will use cases that have recently occurred, teach how to get ahead of situations and reduce the risk of crisis, and teach actionable equity leadership strategies.

Overview

LinkedIn Learning is an online training library of thousands of training videos and tutorials covering a wide variety of software, technology and business-related topics. LinkedIn DEI Learning Paths are a series of short courses taken together to provide a deeper understanding of a DEI topic or skill. DEI Learning Paths are ready-made for lunchtime learning since each course lasts about an hour. Once you complete a Learning Path, you will be awarded a certificate via LinkedIn.
