The TLTC Has Gone Virtual 

Welcome to the Virtual Toro Learning & Testing Center. In accordance with the university's COVID-19 response, the TLTC will be offering services through virtual office hours. Until further notice, we are not currently conducting testing services, and tutoring services are resuming online. We thank you in advance for your cooperation during this difficult time as we strive to keep our students, families, communities, and ourselves safe and healthy.


About

The Toro Learning and Testing Center offers a variety of academic support to all currently enrolled and matriculated CSU Dominguez Hills students. The Learning Center strives to create an open atmosphere of learning, promote engaged academic scholarship, and to provide students with opportunities to be fully integrated into the rich culture of the university. The Testing Center supports and enhances student success by providing secure and comfortable atmosphere for testing. AAC&U (2007) describes lifelong learning as “all purposeful learning activity, undertaken on an ongoing basis with the aim of improving knowledge skills and competence.” The Toro Learning and Testing Center’s tutor training program is certified by the College of Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) and adheres to the professional standards and guidelines set forth by the National College Testing Association (NCTA), and the Supplemental Instruction program is certified by the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC)


Virtual Front Desk

Our front desk staff will be responding to your messages throughout the day, in the order received during the virtual office hours outlined above. Please note that our staff will not be in the office during this virtual period. Staff will have limited access to voicemail and email messages outside of the virtual office hours.

Summer Online Tutoring

Summer session tutoring will be provided though NetTutor. More information can be found in the Tutoring Schedule.

We are excited to introduce Toro Success Collaborative (TSC) as the new mode for scheduling appointments for tutoring and advising. Please visit the Tutoring Schedule for more information.

GWE Updates

The University is in the process of reviewing graduation candidates’ records in light of the temporary limited suspension of the CSU Graduate Writing Assessment Requirement (GWAR).  Your record will be updated accordingly before the end of the Spring 2020 semester, prior to the awarding of degrees.  There is nothing further you need to do at this time.  

If you registered for the GWE exam for April 18, 2020, you should have received your refund; if you have not received it, or have any questions, please contact Andrea Giordano, her email is: agiordano@csudh.edu
