Who We Are

The Toro Learning and Testing Center offers a variety of academic support to all currently enrolled and matriculated CSU Dominguez Hills students. The Learning Center strives to create an open atmosphere of learning, promote engaged academic scholarship, and to provide students with opportunities to be fully integrated into the rich culture of the university, while the Testing Center supports and enhances student success by providing a secure and comfortable atmosphere for testing. AAC&U (2007) describes lifelong learning as “all purposeful learning activity, undertaken on an ongoing basis with the aim of improving knowledge skills and competence.” The Toro Learning and Testing Center’s tutor training program is certified by the College of Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) and adheres to the professional standards and guidelines set forth by the National College Testing Association (NCTA).

What We Offer

The CSU Dominguez Hills Testing Center offers proctoring services and is responsible for the administration of exams such as the Graduate Writing Exam (GWE), and the College Level Examination Program (CLEP).

Testing Updates

Graduation Writing Exam (GWE)

Per AA 2020-04, the Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement (GWAR) and the Graduation Writing Exam (GWE) are temporarily suspended due to COVID-19 for Spring 2021, Summer 2021, and the 2021-2022 Academic Year (fall and spring). Please note that students who are graduating Spring 2021, Summer 2021, Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 are exempt from the GWAR. 

The GWAR has been waived for summer 2022 graduates.
