A certified Aerospace, QMS and EMS Lead Auditor (RABQSA) and AIHA Fellow; was formerly a Boeing Technical Fellow. Previous Professor of environmental health, currently teaches QAS 527 as well as EHS and business courses.

Rochelle Cook, Faculty Rochelle Cook


Over 20 years of experience in engineering and project management roles in manufacturing and healthcare sectors. Mentoring/coaching for thesis/dissertation process and writing. Instructs QAS 511 Quality Function Management and TQM (3 Units).

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Textile Management & Technology from Auburn University and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University. Rochelle also holds a PhD in Leadership Studies from North Carolina A&T State University. She is a Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Certified professional in healthcare quality (CPHQ), Quality Engineer, and Project Management Professional (PMP®). Her hobbies include mentoring, long distance running, and traveling.

Bob Mehta

Seasoned Quality Professional Fellow of ASQ with over 27 years of GxP experience (including 7 years as a consultant) providing consulting services for Aseptic Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, and Biologics companies. 12 years of cGMP laboratory experience to support clinical / manufacturing operations (proprietary and CMOs), 7 years of experience managing Quality Systems (21 CFR Part 50, 54, 110, 111, 210, 211, 312, 600, and 820), ISO (9001, 13485, 17025, 22000), CMDR and MDR (93/42/EEC) and compliance functions by providing oversight to global proprietary and outsourced manufacturing facilities for Quality Assurance activities and 6 year experience supporting consulting and training functions to help clients with regulatory (FDA/ISO) commitments.

Steven Shuelka, Faculty Steve Schuelka

Thirty five years in the quality field primarily as a Statistician. Work experience has ranged from Petrochemicals and Heavy Manufacturing to Healthcare to Aerospace. Expertise in descriptive statistical analysis and use of quality analysis tools in a variety of facets of business.

Steven has taught many statistics and quality-focused courses both at Fortune 500 companies and at colleges throughout the Chicago area. He has worked for Petrochemical and Steel companies, spent five years working in the Healthcare field, performed statistical analysis for the Space Shuttle program, and has done consulting and conducted training programs throughout the United States and Canada.  Steven is currently the Chair Elect for the Statistics Division, a past member of the ASQ Board of Directors, and has been involved with several ASQ committees including being the Chair of the Voice of the Customer Committee and Board Champion for the Membership Model Committee.

Mary McShane Vaughn, FacultyMary McShane Vaughn

Currently principal partner at University Training Partners, a company that develops and delivers Lean Six Sigma training for corporations and universities. Over the past eight years she has enthusiastically delivered more than 85 Yellow, Green and Black Belt courses for her university and corporate clients. Previously, Mary was a tenured faculty member at Kennesaw State University in Georgia. For eight years she directed and grew the Master of Science in Quality Assurance program and taught statistics, statistical quality control, linear regression and design of experiments in the graduate program. Before her career in academics, Dr. McShane-Vaughn worked for 15 years as a quality engineer and statistician in the automotive, medical device manufacturing, airline, consumer products testing and revenue management industries.

Dr. Mary McShane-Vaughn earned her PhD in Industrial Engineering and an MS in Statistics from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a BS in Industrial Engineering from Kettering University in Michigan. She is co-author of The Certified Quality Inspector Handbook, and author of The Probability Handbook, The Probability Workbook, and Lean Six Sigma Leadership. Dr. McShane-Vaughn holds ASQ certifications as a Six Sigma Black Belt, Quality Engineer and Reliability Engineer.

Alan Wang, Faculty Alan Wang


17+ years of experience in the Aerospace, Pharmaceuticals, and Chemicals industry, specializing in industrial raw materials, research reagents, food grade additives, and pharmaceutical ingredients and has established a proven record of impacting organizational bottom-line via traditional and innovative methods.

Alan holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry / Materials Science from UCLA and is a recent graduate and an alumni of CSUDH’s MSQA program. In addition, Alan is an ASQ certified quality auditor, Exemplar Global certified ISO 9001:2015 lead auditor, UCLA certified technical business manager, and former Chair of ASQ’s Los Angeles Section. Alan’s personal interests include parenting, recreational team sports, distance running, mechanical tinkering, and computer technologies.
