Registration Process

Toro Guardian Scholars is an inclusive program where current and former foster foster youth, students verified as McKinney Vento, and unaccompanied minors can register year-round to participate in programming and enjoy community support. TGS does not have a GPA/unit requirement, nor do we have an age cap. Students are eligible for TGS programming regardless of their age at the time their case was open and the length of time spent in care. Undergraduate students, graduate students, credential-seeking students, and doctoral students enrolled at CSUDH with lived experience are welcome to apply. To register for the Toro Guardian Scholars program, students will be asked to complete the following:

  1. Complete the TGS Registration Form below and submit the form in-person at Welch Hall 363 or via email at tgscholars@csudh.edu
  2. Submit verification letters (ward of the court; foster care involvement) or McKinney Vento documentation
  3. Complete a Biopsychosocial Assessment with a TGS team member
  4. Attend TGS Welcome Day, an event offered annually

TGS is able to assist with any part of the registration process, please contact us at Welch Hall 363, (310) 243-2052, or via email at tgscholars@csudh.edu. Once registered into Toro Guardian Scholars, Scholars will be able to access program resources. If you are still not enrolled at CSUDH but are interested in learning more, applying, or need assistance with reducing barriers to enrollment, please contact the TGS Office.
