Fall Protection Program

CSUDH recognizes the fact that falls present a significant workplace hazard. A fall from just 4 feet takes less than 1/2 of a second to occur and can cause significant injury. According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, falls are among the most common causes of serious work related injuries and deaths.

The risk of falls can be reduced or eliminated by careful planning, thorough training prior to performing work, using appropriate safety equipment, following safe work practices and Cal/OSHA regulations, and providing close supervision of employees exposed to falls.
