Fire Watch Procedures

A Fire Watch is a physical inspection conducted when a building's fire alarm, sprinkler, or other suppression systems are hindered or temporarily out of service. The California State Fire Marshal has established the parameters by which the CSUDH Fire Watch system must operate. This includes notification of the University Police Department, Environmental Health and Safety, and the building's occupants. Regular area inspections are logged to ensure that no evidence of smoke, fire, or abnormal conditions exists.
