Application Checklist

In order to meet immigration timelines, International Applicants residing outside of the USA are encouraged to submit all documents by October 15 for the Spring term and by May 1 for the Fall term.

The following programs are online only and do not qualify for I-20 issuance: Online MPA, Online NCRP, Online Quality Assurance, Online Radiological & Imaging Sciences, and Online Systems Engineering.

The following programs are closed to International Undergraduate Applicants: Applied Studies, all Certificate Programs, Clinical Science, Nursing, and Quality Assurance.

The following programs are closed to International Graduate Applicants: All Certificate Programs, Education School Leadership CASLA, Interdisciplinary Studies, Marital & Family Therapy, MSW-Part Time, Nursing, and School & College Counseling.

Undergraduate Application Deadline: Spring = November 1; Fall = May 1

Undergraduate Document Deadline: Spring = November 29; Fall = June 1

Document deadlines for graduate students vary by program.

You will be asked to enter all courses you completed, those currently in progress, and any courses you plan to take.

1. Apply for Fall 2021

Apply online from October 1 through May 1, via Cal State Apply. Please note that the undergraduate international deadline is May 1, and we do not make decisions based on self-reported information for international applicants.  

2. Pay Application Fee

A $70 non-refundable application filing fee must be paid at the time of application submission. Instructions for payment can be found on Cal State Apply.

3. Check Application Status

The Office of Admissions will communicate your next steps in the admission process via email. Email is the official method of communication for California State University, Dominguez Hills.

4. Send Your Scores

Send in your test scores for:

Entrance Exam — Not all students are required to do this. Get more information about required documents.

Proof of English Proficiency. Learn more about test options, such as Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) here.

5. Send Your Financial Support Affidavit

Complete your Affidavit of Financial Support [PDF] indicating you have enough funds to cover your first year of full-time study. Learn more about financial certification.

Note: This affidavit must be completed before student can be issued the Form I-20.

6. Submit Transcripts

Submit your official transcripts (academic records) for all schools attended, whether coursework was completed or not by June 1. Include transcripts for ESL coursework. Electronic transcripts are preferred. Learn more about submitting foreign transcripts.

7. Send Course Description/Syllabi

Students transferring post-secondary courses to CSUDH must submit official course descriptions/syllabi in English. Learn more about submitting course descriptions.

8. Send Forms

F-1 visa international students transferring from a college or university in the U.S. and applying from within the U.S. must submit copies of the following:

  • F-1 visa stamp
  • I-94 copy
  • Current form I-20
