Business Programs Accreditation

Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)

CSUDH's business programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). AACSB International, a global nonprofit association, connects educators, students, and business to achieve a common goal: to create the next generation of great leaders. Synonymous with the highest standards of excellence since 1916, AACSB provides quality assurance, business education intelligence, and learning and development services to over 1,700 member organizations and more than 840 accredited business schools worldwide. AACSB’s mission is to foster engagement, accelerate innovation, and amplify impact in business education. The global organization has offices located in Tampa, Florida, USA; Amsterdam, the Netherlands; and Singapore.

AACSB Accreditation gives students a competitive edge – they get a rigorous, relevant education that prepares them for successful careers. And it ensures them more opportunities; many major companies report that they recruit exclusively at AACSB-accredited institutions for interns and employees. AACSB-accredited schools:

  • are recognized worldwide by top employers and other universities
  • have employers that only hire their graduates
  • have more access to recruiters
  • have graduates that receive higher, more competitive salaries
  • have students that are more international and are likely to earn higher levels of education
  • have students with high-graduating GPAs
  • are challenging and teach the best skills that give graduates a distinct advantage.

Public Administration Accreditation

National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA)

CSUDH's Master of Public Administration (MPA) program is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA). Accreditation is a voluntary quality assurance process that assists institutions in developing and maintaining the highest educational standards.

NASPAA accreditation recognizes that a master's program in public affairs has undertaken a rigorous process of peer review conducted by the Commission on Peer Review and Accreditation (COPRA). The MPA program has successfully met the PASPAA Standards for Professional Master's Degree Programs in Public Affairs, Policy and Administration. Accredited programs must contribute to the knowledge, research, and practice of public service, establish observable goals and outcomes, and use information about their performance to guide program improvement. They must practice truth in advertising and ensure students achieve learning objectives in the following five domains essential to public service:

  • to lead and manage in public governance;
  • to participate in and contribute to the policy process;
  • to analyze, synthesize, think critically, solve problems and make decisions;
  • to articulate and apply a public service perspective;
  • to communicate and interact productively with a diverse and changing workforce and citizenry.

NASPAA accreditation recognizes that a master’s program in public affairs has undertaken a rigorous process of peer review conducted by the Commission on Peer Review and Accreditation.

University Accreditation

Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)

Since 1964, CSU Dominguez Hills has been accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Upon completion of the campus visit, CSUDH was fully accredited by the WASC Commission in 1968.

The last WASC Educational Effectiveness Review was conducted in 2018, and CSUDH’s accreditation was reaffirmed for a maximum 10 years.
