Dr. Hugo D. Asencio is Assistant Professor of Public Administration at California State University, Dominguez Hills, College of Business Administration and Public Policy. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration and Public Policy from Auburn University. His research has focused on the effects of leadership on corruption, employee trust, job satisfaction, and performance in government agencies. Dr. Asencio has also conducted research on social media utilization in nonprofit organizations, ethics training in military and police agencies, and e-government. His recent research has focused on military education programs and the impact of government policies on entrepreneurial activity in cities. Dr. Asencio is member of the Council of the American Society for Public Administration, Southern California Chapter. He is also co-founder and Vice President of Agudeza, an agribusiness specializing in avocado production in Guatemala.

Dr. Jennifer Brodmann is an assistant professor of finance at CSUDH. Her Ph.D. is from the University of New Orleans (UNO). Her research focuses on corporate and entrepreneurial finance. She is a member of the Los Angeles Chapter of AFWA and American Association of University Women (AAUW). She has served as a Research Mentor to undergraduate students for the Privateer Undergraduate Research and Scholarly UNO Experience (PURSUE) program, a mentor for the CSUDH Innovation Incubator, and a faculty mentor for the South Bay Economics Forecast Student Research Competition.

Dr. Brodmann has multiple years of experience teaching and mentoring students from diverse, underserved student populations.  Her students and mentees have published their work with her in peer-reviewed journals and presented their research at Innovate UNO, an annual student research conference at the University of New Orleans, as well as the South Bay Economic Forecast and the Academy of Economics and Finance. Dr. Brodmann has presented her research at several conferences, which include the Eastern Finance Association, Southwestern Finance Association, Academy of Financial Services, Academy of Economics and Finance, and the Gulf Research Council. Dr. Brodmann’s research has been published in peer-reviewed academic journals, which include the International Review of Economics and Finance, International Journal of Bank Marketing, Journal of Business Accounting and Finance Perspectives, Journal of Economic Cooperation and Development, and Borsa Istanbul Review.
