Toro Fund FAQ

How do I make a gift to the Toro Fund?

There are several ways to contribute to The Toro Fund:

  • Visit our Online Giving page and select The Toro Fund
  • Call (310)-243-2437 to make a gift over the phone
  • Make a check to the CSUDH Philanthropic Foundation and mail it to:

CSU Dominguez Hills
1000 East Victoria Street, WH 425
Carson, CA 90747

You can also make a gift over the phone with our student Ambassadors.

What does my contribution support?

Gifts to The Toro Fund are unrestricted, which means they immediately support the areas of greatest need. Please visit the Current Priorities page for more information on what the Toro Fund is currently supporting.

Your contribution also supports our participation rates, which many major gift donors use to determine the recipient of their next major gift. Every gift means one more person supports our university and our students. Imagine the impact if every one of our 100,000 alumni participated this year!

What is a pledge?

A pledge is a promise to make a donation. A rising donor can turn their pledge into a tax-deductible gift by sending in their contribution online, over the phone, or by check.

After 30 days from the date of your pledge, we send a gentle reminder for your convenience.

Can I designate my gift to a specific area of the university?

Absolutely. Our giving page lists funds that are available for support.

Is my contribution tax-deductible?

Yes! Because the CSUDH Philanthropic Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization, gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. To qualify for a tax benefit for this year, you must make your donation before the end of the calendar year (December 31).

Can I make a recurring gift?

Yes! This is the most convenient way to empower our students on a monthly or annual basis. You can do so on our Online Giving page.

Faculty/Staff—You may choose to make your recurring gift using our convenient payroll authorization form. Learn more on the Faculty and Staff Giving page.

What is a Matching Gift Program?

Many employers offer matching gifts as a benefit to their employees. If you work for a qualified matching gift company, your gift to the Toro Fund can be doubled or even tripled. For example, if you give $250 to the Toro Fund, your employer will send an additional check of $250, doubling your impact!

Ask your human resources or personnel department to find out if your employer participates.
