Join us for an unforgettable evening of comedy with the hilarious proud alumnus and rising star Jesus Trejo (BS '10)! He’s bringing some of his funniest friends to our campus theater for a comedy showcase like no other. Proceeds from the ticket sales will go towards the CSUDH Toro Fund in support of tuition assistance, scholarships, and graduation debt relief.

About Our Alum

Jesus Trejo is a Los Angeles based, comedian, actor, and writer. Born and raised in Long Beach, CA. Trejo’s first stand-up comedy special Stay at Home Son premiered on Showtime in 2020 and his latest standup special, Practicing? debuted on YouTube this year. He most recently served as a staff writer on Hulu’s This Fool,and was recurring as the role of Mr. Trujillo on the Netflix series Mr. Iglesias, and can be seen on his multiple appearances on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Trejo is also the host of Tacos Con Todo, a web series from Complex/First We Feast (Hot Ones) in which he navigates the LA taco scene with celebrity guests

 Jesus is also an author of two children’s books as a part of a two-book deal with publisher Astra/Minerva, the first of which, Papás Magical Water Jug-Clock, has collected several awards since its release, including the prestigious Pura Belpré Honor for both writing and illustrations. Jesus’ younger-self will be the protagonist in both books, and his upbringing will serve as a backdrop to the many life lessons learned working as a first generation Mexican-American. The second book, Mamá's Magnificent Dancing Plantitas, was released on September 10, 2024. Jesus was named a Variety Top 10 Comic to watch at the Just For Laughs comedy festival in 2017, and can be seen performing regularly at his home club, the Comedy Store in Los Angeles.
