BIO

Dr. Scott Cheatham is a Professor and Assistant Chair in the Department of Kinesiology at California State University Dominguez Hills in Carson, California. Dr. Cheatham received his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Chapman University and his PhD in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Cheatham is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and a board certified specialist in orthopedics (OCS). He also holds several fitness certifications and is a certified ergonomic specialist. Dr. Cheatham is a consultant for various health and fitness organizations and has authored over 120 peer reviewed publications, textbook chapters, and several home study courses on the topics of orthopedics, health & fitness, and sports medicine. He is the co-editor and contributing author of the textbook titled: Orthopedic Management of the Hip and Pelvis. Dr. Cheatham's professional responsibilities include being on the editorial board for several peer reviewed journals.  He is also owner of the Sports Medicine Alliance, Inc. where he provides orthopedic physical therapy, sports medicine, and sports performance training services. Dr. Cheatham specializes in treating post-operative and non-operative orthopedic conditions of the shoulder, spine, hip, and knee.
