Program Overview

Type of Program

CSUDH Orthotics and Prosthetics program transitioned to a Masters of Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics in 2012. The faculty utilize the experiences, curriculum, and teaching materials refined over thirty years of offering bachelor's degrees and post graduate certificate programs to make it one of the most established and experienced degree programs in the country.

The O&P Program offers a comprehensive clinical and didactic graduate degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics which was granted full continuing NCOPE/CAAHEP accreditation in 2015 and 2022.

This program helps fulfill the need for practitioners who provide orthotic and prosthetic rehabilitation for individuals requiring custom made orthopedic braces and artificial limbs.

Graduate Residency Outcomes

MSOP Class of 2014: 100% Residency Placement 17 out of 17 students graduated with 17 continuing to NCOPE residency

MSOP Class of 2015: 100% Residency Placement 20 out of 20 students graduated with 19 continuing to NCOPE residency

MSOP Class of 2016: 100% Residency Placement 19 out of 19 students graduated with 19 continuing to NCOPE residency

MSOP Class of 2017: 100% Residency Placement 21 out of 21 students graduated with 21 continuing to NCOPE residency

MSOP Class of 2018: 100% Residency Placement 22 out of 22 students graduated with 22 continuing to NCOPE residency

MSOP Class of 2019: 100% Residency Placement — 22 out of 22 students graduated with 22 continuing to NCOPE residency

MSOP Class of 2020: 100% Residency Placement — 25 out of 25 students graduated with 25 continuing to NCOPE residency

MSOP Class of 2021: 27 students graduated with 22 continuing to residency and 5 internationally employed

MSOP Class of 2022: 100% Residency Placement — 17 students graduated with 17 continuing to residency

 

Program Location

The Orthotic and Prosthetic Program is conducted off site at the CSUDH Orthotic and Prosthetic Education Center, in a 12,000 square foot training facility located in Los Alamitos. Most courses in the program are offered at this location or at the VA Medical Center in Long Beach. The home of the program is the Department of Health Sciences located on the Carson campus, 12 miles north of the program.
