Robert C. Jones holds a PhD in Philosophy from Stanford University. He works on questions at the intersection of applied ethics, animal cognition, speciesism, and social justice, with a focus on animal liberation theory and activism. He is a contributing author to Chimpanzee Rights: The Philosophers’ Brief (Routledge, 2018), and is currently working on a book on political anti-speciesism and animal oppression. Dr. Jones is well-acquainted with the CSU, both as a graduate of CSUN (BA, Music) and CSULA (MA, Philosophy), and as an Associate Professor at Chico State from 2008 to 2019.
