Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinic - Thursday, November 12, 2020 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM

The Student Health Center (SHC) is planning to have a Drive-thru & Walk-up Flu Shot Clinic On Thursday, November 12 from 1:30-4 pm.  This event will be held in the small parking lot behind the SHC (between the SHC and back of University Theater).  Flu shots are free for current CSUDH students.

Cars will be directed through the parking lot, with shots administered to students when they pull up, masked, to the marked location.  Walk-up shots will also be available, for students who are already on campus for classes that Thursday, with our staff available at 1:30 to catch some students before class. Please follow all signage to line up.

The SHC is requesting that all individuals complete the COVID-19 Self-Assessment Screening Tool found in the iToros app prior to coming to campus. Students will be asked to bring/wear a mask, show that they completed the self-assessment screening and respect the 6-foot physical distancing parameters set up during the event.

For those unable to make it to this Flu Shot Clinic, appointments can be made for getting the flu shot at the SHC by calling our main line: 310-243-3629.

UPDATE AS OF 9/3/2020: Student Health Center (SHC) services are now operational Monday - Friday.

The SHC is operating with limited hours, reduced capacity, and mostly through tele-medicine. Students are still able to access live help with our clinicians during the hours the SHC is open. Students seeking medical care will need to call our general office number; during our hours of operation, calls will be taken by clinical staff who will determine if the person can be assisted and treated through tele-medicine, or whether, in rare cases, a patient will be seen in person.  Instructions will be given on this call. Please know our doors are locked for safety purposes, but we have staff on-site available to do their best to address your health care needs, given these unusual circumstances. Again, call first: (310) 243-3629.We have compiled some useful information (financial issues, housing and food assistance, legal help, etc) click here that students may find helpful during this COVID19 crisis.Updates for SHC will also be posted on our social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter).

Please be advised that there will be an upcoming requirement for immunizations, per Chancellor’s Office (CO) Executive Order 803.  Students will be required to show proof of being compliant with the requirement.  This requirement will initially apply to incoming/transferring students, but it is recommended that all students consider becoming compliant with these requirements, as they are good health practices per California Department of Public Health (CDPH). Also, in the event of certain outbreaks, all students may be asked to verify their immunization status. The immunizations required and recommended by the CO can be found here. A definite date for compliance with immunizations has not yet been set; this date will be forthcoming in the next few months and students will have a semester to get their shots. This notice serves to notify students which immunizations will be required so that they have time to get them.  Please note, students/parents will be further notified as to how to input/upload their own immunization records once the process is set up for this purpose.  Please DO NOT bring immunization records to the CSUDH Student Health Center or the Admissions Office for this purpose, but DO start working on getting these documents/immunization requirements taken care of so as not to scramble, as many of these vaccinations do take certain time intervals and multiple doses to complete.
